WHO ARE WE?

The Darling is a lifestyle brand with two beautiful stores characterized by their cozy living room ambience in the heart of A’dam. At the Darling we are treasure hunters who get inspired by everyday life, people, stories and moments.
We sell and and gather clothes, furniture, jewellery, home-deco and accessories; both vintage and new. Our collection is a result of our beloved treasure hunts, it is an eclectic mix of unique yet affordable items.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • You are a true fashion & styling enthusiast and you can
    relate to the style of the brand. Even more important, you
    have a Darling personality and are able to create a warm
    and personal environment for our customers. Kindness is
    magic!
  • You have a high sense of responsibility, love to bring new
    ideas to the table and known for showing initiative
  • You are available on Saturdays and flexible the help us out now and then the rest of the week.

WHO ARE WE

At the Darling we are treasure hunters who get inspired by everyday life, people, stories and moments. We collect, curate, produce and design all kinds of treasures, and even more important, treasurable moments. With the Darling we want to spread a little kindness and create a Darling lifestyle where people are inspired to make a positive difference in everything that they do and that reminds people to see beauty and joy in the little things that (we think) count most in life.

 

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR

A dream came true when Darling Founder Nadine van der Zee started The Darling with a Microcredit in a lovely historical building in The Nine Streets in Amsterdam. A lot happened the past 13 years and the business is still growing.
Just because of that Nadine is looking for somebody to lean on when it comes to her both stores. For her it is time to grow further by creating more time for other creative ideas to expand The Darling as an experience brand instead of spending most of her time in managing the stores. Are you the right person to manage a company or are you a future retail entrepreneur dreaming of your own business? Then this could be the right opportunity for you to get experienced in the field.

  • You are creative and full of inspiration, yet highly organised and skilled in managing a varied workload. You are someone who shows initiative, loves to tackle practicle matters and will make a positive contribution to our team with your solution-oriented way of thinking
  • You’ll show up as someone with a high sense of responsibility, who loves to bring new ideas to the table and are known for your eager to learn new things and showing initiative.
  • You are a true fashion & styling enthusiast and you can totally relate to the style of the brand. Our experience stores are well known by their fashion – and interior styling. You know how to inspire our customers with your styling and buying skills. You know how to mix and match clothes, jewelry and interior and you know what is going on when it comes to the latest trends on different fields
  • Your job will mostly consist of working in store and serving our lovely customers. You brighten up the day, our team and our stores with your love to create a positive vibe/the ultimate darling experience for our customers in our stores. Kindness is magic.
  • You are always being prepared to ‘go the extra mile’ in delivering service on time and to the highest standards.
  • You love to challenge and develop yourself in many different ways and to get even more experienced with all the different facets in this field
  • You have an obsession for details and are always striving for perfection
  • You are self motivated, able to work as a comitted and confident teamplayer as well independently and have strong communication and organization skills
  • Experience in working in retail is a pre
  • You are available for a minimum of 28 hours

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • You will create a neat look and feel in our stores. Ensuring stores are adequately stocked, cleaned and styled.
  • You will be responsible for gathering a part of the collection.
  • You will be responsible for a part of the visual merchandising/styling.
  • You will provide weekly reports to the management.
    You take care of efficient goods handling, inventory management and the administration concerned.
  • You will lead and motivate the in-store team.
  • You will hire, train, supervise and evaluate the in-store team.
  • You will prepare employee work schedules.
